Introduction
The Continuing Professional Development programme for teachers has highlighted and responds to the need for teachers to enhance their own skills in crafts making, to broaden teacher’s understanding of the professional lives of craftspeople and to encourage teachers to invite and work alongside craftspeople in a school context.
The programme also responds to the needs of educators in the cultural sector wishing to use craftspeople to interpret collections, and to craftspeople who wish to extend their own work into education through participating in residencies and continuing professional development programmes for teachers.
